Magma Chalcedony is closely related to the popular yellow/orange Bumble Bee, but with a hard Chalcedony base instead of the soft Travertine base in Bumble Bee. Magma Chalcedony displays a quartz Chalcedony banding that is infused with crocoite crystals.
While the dust of Bumble Bee and Magma Chalcedony is toxic and great care needs to be taken in cutting the material, the final polished material is safe to handle. We also stabilize our Bumble Bee and Magma Chalcedony to make the cutting safer, as well as coating the final cut material as an extra precaution.
Magma Chalcedony colors vary from orange to pink, depending on the Chalcedony banding. It is an exceptionally beautiful material and only found in very small quantities in Indonesia. We work directly with the small-scale miners to make this beautiful material available in our creations.
