- A rich blue exotic gemstone with hints of grey and violet, Tanzanite is only found in one place on earth, near Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, East Africa. This Tanzanite has been heat treated to enhance the Blue color, but is otherwise natural and uncut as nature created.
- Tanzanite is pleochroic, meaning the blue, gray and violet tones within the stone vary depending on the angle the stone is viewed from. There might also be a slight color change in incandescent light, when stones may appear to be more violet. Tanzanite’s lush color is caused by the presence of chromium in the stone.
